Jeffrey T. Cummisford '73
2009 P.E. MacAllister Distinguished Alumnus Award for Service to Carroll
It is often said students who are active on campus during their collegiate tenure
tend to be more connected to their alma mater after graduation—and that notion is
true for alumnus Jeff Cummisford '73. He was a member of Student Senate, played football
and served as president for his fraternity Tau Kappa Epsilon, while carrying a double
major in business administration and economics. After graduation in 1973, Cummisford
became successful in the lending and mortgage financing sector at several local bank
companies. He currently is the vice president and mortgage field manager for Johnson
Bank.
Married to Carroll alumna, Lynn (Tonjes) Cummisford '73, Jeff has served the Carroll
community in several capacities. He served on the Alumni Council, was treasurer for
the Trailblazers Booster Club for 12 years and is a regular participant in the annual
Pioneer Golf Classic. He was inducted into the Carroll Athletics Hall of Fame in 2002
and was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2003, serving as secretary of the board
since 2006.
The Cummisfords are members of the Old Main Society and the prestigious John Adams
Savage Society giving clubs, and previously served as Annual Fund chairs. Jeff was
part of the Waukesha Area Alumni/Friends Team for the Gateway Campaign and was instrumental
in establishing the Old Main Society in the 1980s. Cummisford has also supported students
by offering business internship opportunities and has been very active in the growth
of the business department.
In addition to his Carroll activities, Cummisford is a member of the Metropolitan
Milwaukee Area Chamber of Commerce, the Waukesha County Chamber of Commerce and the
CEO Roundtable. He was the president of the Wisconsin Mortgage Bankers Association
in 1995 and 1996. He also served on the Freddie Mac Advisory Board, Wells Fargo Advisory
Council, Wisconsin Mortgage Bankers Association and Wisconsin Mortgage Brokers Association.
Jeff’s tenure on the Carroll Board of Trustees concluded in 2012. He currently is
a member of the President’s Advisory Council. Jeff and Lynn live in Waukesha, Wis.,
and have two adult children, Kevin and Krista.
