Greetings, fellow Alumni!

No matter how old I get, as the days shorten and the leaves begin to turn each fall, I experience the same longing to go back to school. Fortunately, my involvement with Carroll provides me with many opportunities to connect with students, faculty, and staff who are all committed to creating a vibrant, supportive, and inclusive community on campus and beyond. Here are some highlights from this semester, and an opportunity to share some Pioneer spirit on GivingTuesday.
  • This year’s homecoming weekend featured a Grand Reunion (don’t call it a Schlag!) in the ballroom with alumni from the 5th through the 70th reunion classes. What a treat it was to connect with old friends while sharing memories – and ponzas! – with alumni from across the decades. There was a terrific silent auction, an extremely competitive round of musical bingo, dancing, and tons of historic Carroll memorabilia to peruse. Check out the photo album to live or relive the memories we made!
  • Our Ethos holds that we are all partners in creating a community that embraces respect, integrity, and stewardship. As part of that commitment, the University holds the “Month of Service” throughout November. Alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends are encouraged to give back in their own communities throughout November. As stewards, we continue to help address the needs of our communities by engaging in service for the first time or by repeating something you might already be doing at your place of worship, local school, a non-profit organization, a community center, and more. We are proud of our Pioneers who live the mission of "service in a diverse and global society." You can learn more and share how you serve your own community here.
  • Finally, you may be aware that the Tuesday after Thanksgiving is GivingTuesday – an opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of Carroll students. Last year, the University surpassed its one-day fundraising goal, collecting a total of $230,871. With support from alumni like you this year’s goal to raise $250,000 is within reach. You might even consider serving as a GivingTuesday Ambassador to publicly show your support and encourage others to be a part of this effort. Simply complete this form, and the dedicated Institutional Advancement team will send you exclusive GivingTuesday Ambassador content, including tips, resources, and materials to help you make a remarkable impact on the big day! However, if you choose to participate on November 28, your passion and generosity will truly make a difference, driving positive change for every student, and shaping the next chapter of Carroll University’s story.
With gratitude,
Ann Laatsch ’88
