Areas of Need
Opportunity Scholarship Fund

President Cindy Gnadinger has created the Opportunity Scholarship Fund to provide support for those students from diverse backgrounds which are traditionally underrepresented in higher education. With a contribution to the Opportunity Scholarship Fund, you’ll be actively supporting a more diverse campus through recruitment efforts and services that sustain an inclusive and welcoming environment.

Supporting Carroll's Mission

"...to prepare all students for vocational success, lifelong learning and service in a diverse and global society."

Those words in our mission statement guide us, but also represent a challenge. They demand we do all we can to make a Carroll education available to all and any who seek it—and to offer an inclusive experience to all who come here.

On campus, we’ve staffed departments and built resources to help increase diversity and to foster success among new generations of students. The Office of Multicultural Affairs hosts intercultural events and provides mentoring opportunities that enhance cultural competencies across campus. And our Pre-College Programs give high school students from underrepresented communities a sampling of college life and provide essential skill building activities that prepare students for the rigors of higher education.

But successfully building diversity among our student population requires more. It requires funding. Our president, Dr. Cindy Gnadinger, believes strongly in making the Carroll experience accessible to all, regardless of their background.

Bridging the Gap

We’ve long been committed to making a Carroll education affordable. Ninety-eight percent of our students receive some form of financial aid. But for many first generation students, the average tuition gap is a chasm that can’t be overcome.

President Gnadinger has created the Opportunity Scholarship Fund to provide a lifeline for those students from diverse backgrounds which are traditionally underrepresented in higher education and to help bridge that gap. With a contribution to the Opportunity Scholarship Fund, you’ll be actively supporting a more diverse campus—and helping Carroll fulfill its mission.

Creating an inclusive and welcoming Carroll experience doesn’t stop once a student has been admitted. The Opportunity Scholarship Fund helps with both recruitment and retention of underrepresented students, moving them to graduation from Carroll. Because of your generosity, more students are able to make their dream of a Carroll education a reality.
