WAUKESHA, WIS.— Dr. Sue Kohnke-Hunter, an adjunct lecturer of psychology at Carroll University, has published a book on bipolar disorder. “Bipolar By Proxy: Bipolar/Pseudo Bipolar Family System” is about compassion for another human being, the belief in marriage and the ignorance of mental health disorders. It was published by FriesenPress and is available at Amazon.com and other retailers.

Kohnke-Hunter is a practicing marriage and family therapist, teaches family-to-family classes for the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and volunteers as an adult literacy instructor in addition to teaching at Carroll. She was born and raised in a small town with traditional values, married young and raised a family of three daughters. Until 2000 she held only a high school diploma; now she has a doctoral degree in educational psychology.
