Carroll art professor exhibits in Madison

Sallomi Bule FountainWAUKESHA, WIS.—A new group exhibition at Gallery III of the Overture Center for the Arts, 201 State St., Madison, features paintings by Pacia Sallomi, associate professor of art at Carroll University. "One and Again" will have an opening reception from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, July 13, 2012, and will be on display through Sunday, Sept. 16.

Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday, 10:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday, and noon-5 p.m. Sunday. All visits are free and open to the public.

"One and Again" is curated by Piper Vollmer, a Madison-based sculptor, and is an exhibition exploring visual expressions of symmetry, an enduring scaffold for creative production. The selected work reflects the possible nature(s) of symmetry that have contributed to and risen from its conventional status, such as its reliability, its power to satisfy, to comfort, its predictability, its impositions, where it is desirable and why it might be flouted. This exhibition is sponsored by Webcrafters-Frautschi Foundation.
