Biography

Tate Wilson grew up in the mountains of Colorado, but moved early on to Seattle.  That is where he did all his studies - including his doctoral research and thesis.  His research interests are in Low Temperature Condensed Matter Physics, with an emphasis on systems exhibiting reduced dimensionality.  This includes fluids in confined geometries, which underlies the phenomenon of "frost-heave."  Dr. Wilson's ongoing research work is an experimental study of the dynamics of frost-heave.

Ph.D. stands for latin words that literally translate to "teacher of the love of knowledge" in english.  There could be no more apt title for Tate Wilson.  For him there is no greater joy than to share the things he has learned.
