What is your teaching style?

My goal is that my students would describe my teaching style as energetic and applied. At heart, I am a coach and I try to bring that energy for helping others be successful to the classroom while relating the material to my 15-plus years of working with athletes and individuals trying to reach their health, fitness and performance goals.

Why do you do what you do?

I teach and coach because it is fun and energizing. I get to help people achieve their personal and professional goals while discussing topics I find fascinating.

How do you make learning engaging?

I always try to deliver material through analogies, stories and real-life experiences. My aim is for us to learn deeply and laugh out loud each class.

What should students know about you?

I practice what I teach, don’t be surprised to find me lifting with you in the Van Male weight room and I love to jump into pickup basketball games when I get the chance. My wife and I have two daughters. I love coffee, fishing, campfires, talking sports and dogs.
