Health Sciences

With continued advances in technology, today’s population is doing more and living longer. A direct result is an increased need for healthcare services in many fields. Because of this, the demand for medical professionals in a variety of areas throughout the healthcare industry continues to grow. Carroll University’s health sciences program includes emphases that allow you to spend your first two years taking required courses on campus and the final two applying your knowledge in a clinical setting. Carroll has a 97% placement rate in both diagnostic medical sonography and radiologic technology for acceptance into the hospital phase of the program. And, if you’re interested in working at the managerial level or above, you’ll be ahead of the game as you begin your career with your bachelor’s degree.

“This program gives you a lot of opportunities to explore and serve other communities.”

About the Health Sciences Program

If you’re interested in technology and working with patients in a healthcare setting either emphasis provides an excellent choice in a growing career field. If you’re not sure which area is right for you, our program makes it easy to transition between emphases while you’re completing your core courses. Students that complete the program successfully are team players, committed, communicate well and excel in the sciences.

Both areas offer unique training experiences for students in some of southeastern Wisconsin’s best healthcare organizations. During the professional phase, you’ll rotate between clinical sites within the healthcare system to which you are accepted. This provides you with the opportunity to provide care right away and work with diverse patient populations in settings both large and small. It will also help you understand how your area of emphasis operates in different environments, from fast-paced Emergency Departments to clinic settings and everything in between. As you gain an understating of each service area in which you’re placed, you’ll be better able to determine your career focus and maximize network opportunities with professionals in the field.

Best of all, while enrolled in the program you’re always considered a Carroll University student. This means you’ll continue to receive the advising and support services that you need. Our graduates have a 100% job placement rate and many secure positions prior to completing their degree.
